Psychotherpay and Counselling Services
At Parth Hospital, we consider Psychotherapy to be a main pillar to improve mental health and to enhance the way a person is able to cope with stressful situations in life. We don’t want you to be dependent on us for seeking solutions. By providing personalized psychotherapy services to our patients, we enable them to take the steps in the right direction.
The most widely used form of therapy is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is utilized in treating multiple types of psychiatric illnesses, such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Eating Disorders
- Anger Management
- Marital Crisis
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Chronic Pain
The basic premise of CBT is that, how your feel about something can influence your thoughts and your behaviour. This way of thinking can become a pattern, which automatically elicits same thoughts and behaviours, leading to a loss of productivity.
Through the process of “Guided Discovery”, the therapist aids the patient in understanding these dysfunctional thinking patterns, which leads to specific behaviour patterns. There is no “Right-Wrong”, or any “Absolute” way of viewing the situation in CBT. The therapist aims to enable the patient to look at each aspect from a “productivity” point of view.
This helps the patient to understand the “what works best in this situation” approach.
The number of sessions of CBT depend upon:
- Underlying illness
- Willingness of patient
- Trust in the therapeutic process
- Ability to comply with the Homework
Usually 6-10 sessions are required, each session lasting from 45-60 minutes. Sessions are spaced, generally, at an interval of 2-3 sessions/week.
